Jazz has a new home in NYC! Bossa Nova Music Productions, the company that has successfully presented over 200 Jazz concerts at numerous Whole Foods Market locations, is now starting a brand new series at Food Emporium - Bridge Market in NYC. The series will be on every Thursday starting August 12th from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. These Bossa Nova Music Productions’ events are free to the public. Jazz greats such as Yusef Lateef, Ted Curson, Joanne Brackeen, Charles Davis, Howard Alden, Jack Wilkins, Rufus Reid, and The Mingus Dynasty Band are amongst the many who have been participating in the series since November of 2007. The new series at Food Emporium - Bridge Market is kicking off on Thursday, August 12th by a duo including accomplished piano player Mark Soskin, the pianist of choice for Sonny Rollins and Billy Cobham and innovative sax player Jed Levy, who has played with such luminaries as Jaki Byard, Curtis Fuller and Tom Harrell. The series continues on August 19th with guitarist Paul Abler, pianist Allen Farnham and Brazilian vocalist Yashmin Charnet-Abler. Follow by a duo on August 26th with pianist Richard Wyands and guitarist Roni Ben-Hur.
