Musicians On Call, a nonprofit organization formed in 1999, uses music and entertainment to promote and complement the healing process for patients in the interest of improving their quality of live and creating a better living and healing environment.
Additionally, Musicians On Call seeks to raise awareness of the beneficial effects of music and entertainment.
MOC'S PROGRAMS:
LIVE PERFORMANCES: given by volunteer artists who give in-room performances for patients undergoing treatment or who are unable to leave their hospital beds; Celebrity Visits: Artists who are on tour visit and entertain at hospitals around the country.
CD PHARMACIES: provides hospitals with complete CD listening libraries and CD players for patient use.
PROJECT PLAYBACK: gives patients the chance to have their original music recorded and produced. Special software enable patients to compose their own songs and work with volunteer professionals who will provide guidance in the writing and recording process.
